college faces pass in a swirl
the semester’s just begun
I’m looking at the girls
how much clearer I see now
than I did when I began
the stories are plainly written
most I see and understand
I’m so sad to know I’m aging
I can’t indefinitely understand
I’m drifting from the college years
they sift away like sand
almost imposter, watcher, here
wanting to play again.
