These days pass like showers of silver
through my fingers
and I ache for them
remembering so many empty days.

Loving them, intense spectacles,
writing them, ghost images remain;
passing images, exquisite moments,
Lise.

Women used to lure me, right in off the street
my hands on their hips.
Ah, that sweet thought
gave rise to heat…

And I’d see them standing, anywhere,
and I’d watch them all;
my fantasies unfolding, I could hear
the siren’s call.

But now I’m getting older
and my feet are finding ground,
and my crotch no longer points me
at all things … soft and round.

And I praise God for favors
and a heart that’s turned to clay
for I can see my sisters smiling now
and have the strength to turn away.

         Dear Dennis,
"True" friendship binds my life to yours. It
is trusting, but delicate. Love got in the way.
I really understand your enigmatic nature.
Why? You are the man-likeness of me, Woman.
Faults ("humaness") or varying degrees of
         sensitivity are understood, intelligence is
appreciated; but passionate yearnings must be
subdued. Better to lose lust than the love of the
soul and all the emotions, etc. therein of my
         friend.
You are an elusive butterfly, like you've
seen me; yet the lovely translucent glow of our
         friendship speaks supremely of itself.
                              Love,
                                Kathy
p.s. I liked the card. It expressed your feelings
         perfectly ( I think ).
         XXOO
p.s.s Narcissus and Goldmun was a treasure. Thank
         you, Gallagher.
