               Saw myself today
                 in the reflections of others
               and as I would have them do
                 I did not
                    but this time I caught it.

               Dave Whitcomb would be my friend
                 save for the gap
                    I've never braved....

                 To stand equal and accepting
                    with him, of him, for him,

                   and myself.
