The evening come to me bitter
like the taste of hate on the vine
and all the things she said she’d do to them
I’ve all into her fate these same things intwined

hate is so wrong…it dies in your mind.

The warm summer’s evening slumbers
amid the afternoon’s late umbers
The warm summer wind carressed us
and I felt her hands, warm
coming thru my skin
and, so, the evening fell
as our skins pressed and our minds umbered
beneath the summer night’s spell.

How quickly turns the wheel
on which our heartaches ride
our love which was so evergreen
now shows its winter side.
She kissed my soul and loved me as a boy
her love for ten years nurtured me
a mother, friend, lover and more.
Much more than these.
Her love has been my sanity
her loss beyond belief.
I guess the hardest part
is to see the change in her.
The bitter weeds her heartache’s sowed
and which my own injustice grew.
Sometimes I see her faults so clear
sometimes only her love.
The same girl whose moods enrage me
is the one whose love can then unthaw.
I guess I can live without her love
but I wonder how to pass these straits
where my heartaches mount in chorused screams
and each moment becomes a day.
