The lady’s more than I thought … much more
where she led me breathless thru her smiles
I now stand amazed at the power of her animal
She’s good at being a lady and smiling …
but underneath … underneath she’s a strong woman.
I asked to be her lover/friend … best friend, even
and she responded
by shedding her poise for her natural power
by shedding her polite remarks for looking at me and seeing
We played the eyes game of open sharing again
that I had taught her
and this time it was I who wavered … lord
her native power … so well socialized,
she’s not sure of it as an asset, yet.
Her shoulds vie against her wants … silent struggle
beneath her poise and professional demeanor
Only her brown eyes give her away …
they rage with potential … and confusion and power
I hope my ego is up to being her friend
I’ve found much more than I expected …
its going to test my power to accept …
